Jean-Paul d’Incau, Chairman of the SGE group, along with his son Gérald, are thrilled to share the fruits of their labor through the elegance of their 100% Merlot wines, elevated by the exceptional, well-preserved terroir of Saint-Émilion.

Establishment of the vineyard by the ESTAGER family: 1848

History

Château La Pointe Chantecaille spans a modest area of 1.12 hectares and was under the stewardship of the Estager family from 1848 to 2020. It is located in the heart of the golden triangle which is the home to Saint-Émilion and Pomerol’s finest vineyards, situated on a pristine terroir composed of gravel and blue clay mixed with iron oxides. In 2020, the estate was acquired by Jean-Paul D’INCAU, a wine and terroir enthusiast as well as the chairman of the SGE group. Subsequently, the estate has undergone a complete renovation, including the installation of a new temperature- controlled vat room suited for tailor-made vinification. The latest vintages, which are in the process of organic conversion, bear the hallmark of the Berrouet family (renowned oenologists of the right bank).

Vinification and aging adapted to the Chantecaille style: oak barrels and Tuscan terracotta amphorae house our wine for slow and continuous aging which brings finesse and complexity to our wines.
We thus preserve the aromatic identity of the plot between the purity of the fruit aromas and the velvety tannins, elegance and length on the palate.
